The focus is on players who overcome the team’s weaknesses. They also practiced with mock actions. Sunrisers Hyderabad, which failed miserably last season, has focused on strengthening the team.
IPL auction 2024 date
IPL Auction 2024 is set to be held on December 19, Tuesday in the Dubai Coca-Cola arena. It is the time of December, and auction time comes again in IPL.
While Sunrisers Hyderabad the purse money is 34 crores, maximum six positions are vacant in that team. It has three overseas slots. Sunrisers Hyderabad, which retained almost all the core players, left out Vivrant Sharma, Samarth Vyas, Karthik Tyagi along with Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, Aqeel Hossain who were bought at a huge price. Shehbaz Ahmed was brought in from RCB as part of the trade.
Even though the Sunrisers Hyderabad team looks balanced, the team needs a specialist opening batsman as well as an overseas pacer and a quality specialist spinner. Along with this, the team may be interested in picking up Australia opener Travis Head as well as New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra or Vanindu Hasaranga and Gerald Coetzee.
1. Travis Head.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have a devastating opener deficit. After David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t get that level of openers. Although Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma opened last season, they could not give proper starts. In this order, Sunrisers is making plans to take Travis Head, who showed his ability in the World Cup. If he doesn’t get caught then Rachin can try for Ravindra.
2. Gerald Coetzee.
Sunrisers Hyderabad may try for South African pacer Gerald Coetzee as well as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. With Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc commanding a huge price, the team will try hard for Gerald Coetzee. Moreover, as he is a South African player, Markrum is known to him, so there is a possibility of paying him.
3. Vanindu Hasaranga.
After losing Rashid Khan, Sunrisers Hyderabad could not find a quality spinner. The team may try for Vanindu Hasaranga in this sequence. But in the context of the possibility of only four overseas players in the final team, the focus can be on the domestic spinner instead of Hasaranga.
